How this site handles the little information it collects.

This site exists for a single purpose: to preserve and share the literary work of Ram Nath Shastri — his Dogri originals alongside Hindi and English translations. It is a non-commercial archive. We do not sell anything, we do not run advertising, and we do not ask you to create an account.

We collect only what is needed to keep the site running, understand whether readers are finding the work, and receive your feedback on the translations. This page explains what that looks like in practice.

What we collect automatically

When you visit the site, Google Analytics 4 records anonymized information about your visit: your approximate region (not precise location), the type of device and browser you are using, which pages you read, and how long you stayed. IP addresses are anonymized before they reach us, and we cannot identify you personally from this data.

We use this only to understand which works are being read and whether the site is reaching the Dogri literary community. It is never linked to any identity.

What you share voluntarily

A feedback form, hosted through Google Forms, sits in the site footer. If you use it to share thoughts on a translation or report an error, you may choose to include your name and email — both are optional. Anything you submit is read only for the purpose of improving the translations and correcting mistakes. We do not share these responses, sell them, or use them for any marketing.

If you would like us to delete a submission you have made, let us know through the feedback form and we will remove it.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets a small number of cookies to measure visits. These are used only for the anonymous analytics described above. No cookies are used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Your browser lets you block or clear cookies at any time; the site will continue to work normally if you do.

Third-party services

This site relies on a few external services to function. Each has its own privacy practices, which we encourage you to review:

  • Google Analytics — anonymous traffic measurement
  • Google Forms — the reader feedback form in the footer
  • Vercel (or Netlify) — the hosting provider that serves the site
  • Google Fonts — for rendering Noto Serif Devanagari and other typefaces

We do not control what these services collect on their own account, but we have configured each one to the most privacy-respecting option available.

Children

A portion of Shastri's work was written for children, and younger readers are welcome here. The site does not knowingly collect any information from children, and nothing on it requires registration or personal details to read.

Attribution, rights, and corrections

The Dogri originals are the work of Ram Nath Shastri. Translations are credited to their translators where applicable. Scholarly and educational use is warmly encouraged, with attribution.

If you find an error in a translation, a mistaken date, or a missing credit, please tell us through the feedback form. We review every such note and correct the site where warranted.

Contact

For privacy questions, corrections, takedown requests, or anything else related to this archive, please use our reader feedback form.

Changes to this policy

If the way the site handles information changes in any meaningful way, we will update this page and revise the date below. The policy is intentionally short, and we intend to keep it that way.
